Laura and I went on a little trip to Abu Dhabi last week for the official opening of the World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi.
It’s a brand new mall, built on the site of the old souk which was destroyed in a fire almost 10 years ago. To celebrate the opening, the mall held a fashion show on its rooftop to showcase some of the brands they are home to, including House of Fraser who are opening their first Middle East branch in WTCAD.
It was a sweaty night so I opted for heavy-duty, heat-resistant makeup and light clothing.
One of my old favourite dresses from ASOS came out to play for the night as its super light, my favourite Reiss heels and I brought along a new black blazer from New Look, which is the shizzle. I always find blazers a bit difficult as my boobs tend to get in the way of it falling naturally, but this one is perfect – it’s almost like a boyfriend style fit and falls straight. You can sort of see it in the very top picture.
I wore a lot of makeup (no surprise there!) but there were three standouts: Collection 2000 concealer (I’m sorry, I just can’t call it ‘Collection’ – doesn’t sound right!) which is sensational and which I have talked about at length in the past, Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation which is equally sensational and mega resistant to heat and my new favourite eyeshadow palette, Charlotte Tilbury La Dolce Vita. Let’s take a closer look at the palette shall we?
Oh yes. Amazeballs. I’m loving the gold obviously – paw marks on that one already! So pigmented and literally the perfect palette for going from day to night. I wore the top two shades during the day at work and then smushed on the darker shade and patted the gold over it before leaving for Abu Dhabi.
Speaking of Charlotte Tilbury, her new collection Ibiza Sirens looks sensational. I am desperate for one of the Beach Sticks and maybe a Film Star palette. Check out Ree’s post for all the info 🙂
