We need to talk about Rupert.

One minute I had decided that it was all over, that I wasn’t going to buy him. That we were done.

But he’s persistent, and I couldn’t get away from him. He kept popping up in adverts all over Facebook and Google.

If you’ve read my blog or followed me on Instagram for any length of time you’ll know that I have a shoe problem. Specifically, a flat pointy shoe problem.

What can I say? Round toe shoes make me look short and stumpy. Flat pointy shoes make me look taller and slimmer (at least I think they do!) and I feel super fancy when I wear them 😉

This pair from Rupert Sanderson caught my eye months and months ago. I spotted them on Jacey’s blog, and then on her Instagram. I stalked them on various websites and even added them to my wishlist on NET-A-PORTER. But there they stayed. ‘You don’t need them, Simone’.

Rupert Sanderson Fringed Leather Pointed Toe Flats

That all changed the other day when I noticed that stock was dwindling. My god! What did this mean? Where were they going? Etc.

So I bought them. They are fabulous, as expected. And instantly comfortable to wear, much like my beloved Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats (the pointy ones of course!), and they go with every pair of ripped jeans I own. They will most likely also look very nice with dresses but I haven’t got that far yet.

I wore them yesterday with my favourite FRAME Denim jeans and a new longline t-shirt from Splendid. I was comfortable in them all day, until about 5pm-ish when they started to rub a teeny bit on my ankle. Pretty good going for their first day out. Right?

Now I must avoid NET-A-PORTER and all other online stores. I must have a flat, pointy shoe detox. Of course, it’s very difficult to do this when the aforementioned website has a category called ‘Pointed-Toe Flats’ 🙂
