I received the above products from Rimmel this week; Stay Matte Foundation and Match Perfection Compact Powder. I don’t actually use a lot of Rimmel products, which is quite funny considering I refused to use anything else from the ages of 13-16! Coffee Shimmer lipstick anyone??
Since moving to warmer climes nearly 3 years ago, a decent mattifying foundation has become a must, especially as I have combination to oily skin. I used to swear by Make Up For Ever Mattifying Foundation for a while but it has since moved to the back of the drawer as I am finding it quite drying. So, as a result I was interested to try this out.
Rimmel Stay Matte has a nice light and creamy consistency and provides medium to full coverage. It goes on beautifully and blends out so well. What I was surprised and pleased to discover is that you can blend and blend and it doesn’t cake or become dry on the skin. I wore it all day and was impressed with the staying power, especially in 34 degree heat.
I actually can’t believe it is a Rimmel foundation to be honest, its really really good and so cheap!
I tried Match Perfection also, over Stay Matte for an extra bit of coverage. The consistency, coverage and texture of the powder reminds me exactly of MAC Select Pressed Powder. Its lovely and soft on the skin and provides great coverage. I think this will end up in my hand bag when I finish off my MAC Select Pressed Powder.
Does anyone else think Rimmel have really upped their game of late? There are a lot of positive reviews for their foundations at the moment.
