This is the latest eyeliner offering from Revlon. A creme gel formulation that comes in four shades and promises to be bold, smudge-proof and last for up to 24 hours. I got my hands on two of the shades; plum and charcoal, above left and right. They come in quite small, dinky little packaging and there is a brush hidden inside the lid, which seems to be all the rage with drugstore eyeliners these days.
The colours looked pretty nice in the pot and when I had a go at them I found the charcoal one to be absolutely amazing, a beautiful slate grey colour with fabulous payoff, pretty much exactly the shade you see above. The purple is pretty too, but a little bit sheer (even though it’s choc-full of glitter) and two or three layers were needed to achieve the colour you can see in the picture. Application is nice and smooth and easy to work with, and they give you a little bit of time to work with before they set on the skin.
Impressively, when I finished lining my eyes I tried to clean off the colour swatches I had on my hands and they wouldn’t budge. It took a bit of elbow grease (some cotton wool and Bioderma) to get them off – and that was only a few minutes after I had actually swatched them. I wore the charcoal shade for the rest of the day and happily, it didn’t move either. The colour stayed the same, there was no chipping or flaking and it took almost a solid minute with a cotton disk soaked in eye makeup remover to get it off in the evening. Result!
In terms of value for money, it’ll take me quite some time to get through one of these pots so I think the retail price of 8.99GBP is pretty decent. I’m so impressed with the charcoal shade in particular, I’m thinking of picking up the black shade too to see if it matches up to my beloved Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. Anyone else using these?
