Last month I attended a Skin 101 Session at the Kempinski Hotel in Dubai. It was held at the stunning Alpine Ski Chalet retreat, with views over Ski Dubai!

At the event everyone experienced a personalized, one-on-one skin analysis by a trained Pond’s Beauty Advisor and a chance to discuss all things health and skincare with high-profile dermatologist Dr. Lillian Khan and nutrition and health expert Christina Doublichevitche.

The Skin Analysis was very interesting I have to say. The Pond’s advisor used a  ‘Face analyzer’  to check for the presence of pigmentation, wrinkles and other nasties. Personally, my concerns are in relation to dark spots/pigmentation and the super fine skin around my eyes. Fortunately, the dinky little device informed me that my pigmentation is pretty normal and that my skin is aging at an appropriate level, although I am aging (the horror!) I was also given a range of skincare to specifically tackle the area’s I have concerns with; Flawless White Facial Foam, Pond’s Radiance Eye Cream and Flawless White Anti-Spot Serum. I’m using them at present, so keep your eyes peeled for a review very soon!

Later in the afternoon, we had a chance to sit down and chat with Dr. Khan and Christina. Living in the Middle East, the majority of our questions were centred around sun damage, SPF and how to protect your skin on as many levels as possible. Dr. Khan informed us that SPF15 should be worn everyday if we’re running around, in and out of buildings however, if we are out in the sun for more than a 10-15 minutes every day we need to wear SPF30 at a minimum.

Naturally, within about 10 minutes we all managed to steer the conversation towards botox and other facial treatments, hence the rapt concentration above!  Dr. Khan talked to us about the benefits and downsides to botox and also the importance of facials, eye cream and other wonders, all of which I will be writing about in an upcoming post.

Thanks to Pond’s Arabia for a fabby day and fabby products!
