I’m down to the last few sprays of my beloved Oribe. I refuse to buy it again because it’s obscenely expensive and so I’m on to the first dupe that everyone recommends.
This Charles Worthington one, and V05 Give Me Texture are the ones everyone seems to bang on about. I haven’t been able to get my hands on the V05 one yet but I’m home next week and plan to go on the hunt for it.
Now, on to Charles. The price of this first of all, is sensational. Seven quid in the UK for gods sake! Brilliant. Other upsides; nice volume and lift similar to its friend Oribe and it stays put for a really long time.
Downsides: It’s a tiny bit more hairspray-like than Oribe and can leave white marks on the hair. It has a tendency to make the hair a little bit crispy and it is near impossible to brush out. But you know what? I don’t care. It gives me the volume I want and it costs seven pounds! I will happily use this until it runs out. And you know what I’ll do then? Repurchase! (Unless V05 is markedly better)
And that’s it. Go forth let ye, and buy this reasonably good product! Down with Oribe, etc 🙂
