This post shall be started with the words “oh yeaaah”. Because that’s how these eyeshadows make me feel.
Who doesn’t love a bit of Nars? Granted, I probably love Nars a bit more than the next person because it’s not available in Dubai, but whatever 🙂
The Nars counter in Brown Thomas in Dublin is what dreams are made of. Small, yet perfectly formed it has everything a girl could ever need (except the Narcissist palette and Dragon Girl matte lip pencil – sob). I decided a new duo shadow was the order of the day so Cordura came home with me, as did Mekong – because Sinead was wearing it when I met her and Dee that evening and it looked fabulous.
Cordura might be the eyeshadow duo I have been looking for my whole life. Why? The shades are just so perfect for brown-eyed girls – the darker shade all over the lid and the softer warm brown in the crease and blended out is just perfection.
Mekong on the other hand, is a bit more badass. It’s a kind of dirty dark brown with gold shot through it. Interestingly, there’s also a bit of a red undertone to it. It’s beautiful on and as you can probably imagine, it layers like a dream. A light application gives a nice warm dark brown/reddish wash of colour and a heavier application shows up the gold and looks more smokey.
Just look at it! I have to say, getting my hands on these has now confirmed that I absolutely need the Narcissist palette. More than I ever needed it before.
