My most used products in July.

Here are the new (and new to me) products I tried, loved, and used frequently this month. Everything from skincare and bodycare to makeup and haircare.

Body Base (Shimmer)

I picked this up at the beginning of the month and have used it nearly every day since. The formula is quite dry and not at all sticky, so it’s a dream to apply, sets immediately and doesn’t transfer on clothes. I bought the brush too and found it great for a quick, non-messy application (I filmed an application video which you can watch here). All the other self-tanners I love are listed here.

Byoma Brightening Serum

Recently launched in Ireland and available online, Byoma is a skincare brand to watch. With a tagline of ‘barrier-boosting skincare’, this range is all about strengthening, hydrating and protecting skin (with great ingredients, including a tri-ceramide complex) in an affordable way. The packaging is bright and fun and I love reaching for it in the morning. This serum is my favourite so far, it contains hyaluronic acid and niacinamide and helps to brighten and hydrate the skin, and reduce the appearance of scars and pigmentation (the texture is beautiful, too).

Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation

You’ve probably spotted this foundation in nearly every piece of makeup content I’ve posted this month. I have two shades; one for when I’m more tan (220 Linen) and the other for when I’m not (160 Shell). This is a creamy, diffused, your-skin-but-better foundation. It’s full coverage, in the lightest possible way, and has serious staying power. The finish is smooth, glowy and almost filtered. Divine.

Color Wow Money Mask

I’m not great for using hair masks as I hate how flat and limp my hair can look afterwards, but this one has changed everything. A collaboration between hairstylist to the stars Chris Appleton and Color Wow, this mask is entirely different to anything else I’ve used. A pleasing, super lightweight jelly texture, it works its magic in just three minutes – smoothing, hydrating, and repairing dry/damaged hair without weighing it down. Totally brilliant.

Saie Slip Tint

If this doesn’t win some kind of industry award, I’ll be shocked. It contains argan oil, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, liquorice and a host of other ingredients that brighten, hydrate and protect the skin (it’s SPF35). The coverage is minimal but absolutely stunning; glowy, smooth, balanced and very buildable if you need extra coverage in places. One of the best tinted moisturisers I’ve ever used, hands down. It’s available in 13 shades, and I use shade 2.

Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid

I started using the brand’s famous snail mucin essence a couple of weeks ago, and I like it so much that I decided to give this product a go, too. I call it the blackhead banisher as that’s literally what it does – it’s incredible! A slippy, almost gel-like serum, I use it after cleansing – soaking a cotton disk and then applying to the nose and chin. It’s quite strong, I use it only once a week at the moment, but it’s extremely effective (and mercifully, non-irritating).

Summer Fridays SPF

This is one of the loveliest sunscreens I’ve used in recent times. It’s a very milky, lightweight formula and adds the most beautiful soft glow to the skin. It’s gorgeous on it’s own and also great over makeup (and doesn’t pill or flake off during the day). Read my guide to all things SPF here.
