Smoked Ruby arrived in my post box. It wasn’t alone. It was accompanied by Golden Gaze, also from the MAC Semi-Precious Collection. There is no photograph of Golden Gaze because it encountered something so hideous on its journey that it exploded into a million pieces. As of today, I just can’t bring myself to photograph it. I’m feeling quite hard done by and whingey about it. I did consider mulching it back together for about 5 seconds but its just too much effort and frankly, I can’t be bothered. Instead, I imagine I will shake off the broken pieces (which are practically all of it) and make do with the pitiful remains, even though they are very beautiful.
Speaking of beautiful, I’m in love with Smoked Ruby. Just as well. A stunning melange (love that word) of burnt red and black that sort of looks gold, and also a little black and brown but also a little bit red. Totally divine. As for the rest of the collection, it’s fine. I don’t feel the palm-sweating need to own anything else other then Golden Gaze (sob) so I’m happy with this for now.
