I have been on the hunt for some high quality jeans and some light/cashmere knits lately, and what do you know, I found them all on the The Outnet last week. I literally spent about four hours on the site adding and removing stuff from my basket. Mainly because I was spending a bit more than usual and also because I was worried about buying jeans, due to American sizing and whatnot. Thankfully, the ‘chat with an Outnet person thingy’ is actually really good, and I was able to figure out what size I was in different brands.
First of all, the jeans. I bought a pair of khaki coloured J Brands and let me tell you, these are the jeans of my life. I may only wear J Brand jeans for the rest of my days if this is what they’re offering. This style (Roz moto-paneled mid-rise skinny) actually lifts your bum (seriously) and flattens out any lumps and bumps as there’s a hardcore stretch element to them. It’s literally like putting on a pair of freakishly strong spanx, except in jean format. So, you’re nipped and tucked like never before and still so comfortable. An absolute revelation, I have to say.
I also picked up a black angora blend sweater from Malene Birger which has just the right amount of slouch. It’s such a gorgeous piece to wear as it’s simple and super soft but they way it’s cut and the chiffon paneling at the side makes it feel a little bit fancy.
And that’s all I bought…
That’s a lie. I also splurged on a handbag! A handbag of great beauty by Zac Posen. When I saw it, I made a noise that sounded something like this; ‘ermagherdddddd’. The structure and sleekness totally sucked me; the heavy black leather, the suede side panels – it was lust at first sight. And you can never have enough black handbags, right? That’s what I keep telling myself anyways…
