It’s been a while since I’ve done a post like this, and for good reason really as I have had absolutely nothing to report. Who wants to see pictures of the same pieces of makeup over and over again? Not me, that’s for sure. Things have changed a lot in the last couple of weeks and my everyday face is now a little bit more interesting than it was a few months ago, so i thought it was worthy of a little post.
A makeover at Clarins recently encouraged me to dig out my Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch, as it hasn’t had that much love of late. I’ve been happily using it on my T zone and underneath the eyes for some added fine line busting action. On top of this goes my new foundation from Laura Mercier; I picked up Silk Creme Foundation on a visit to Bloomingdales some time ago, and apart from the fact that it works beautifully with my now quite dry skin, the shade I chose is also absolutely perfect (Rose Ivory, if you’re interested). So perfect in fact that I often just slap it on now without even looking in a mirror (shock horror, I know). Next comes one of my current powders, either old reliable Mineralize Skin Finish in Comfort or new favourite Bare Minerals READY Blush ‘The Faux Pas’, a beautifully soft pink with super smooth payoff. I was really quite intrigued by the cool to the touch, super silky feel of this blush until I found out they’re cold pressed with camellia oil! Amazing, no? A blush that’s actually good for your skin. Who knew!
My Revlon PhotoReady primer has been doing the rounds for quite a while now but I’m still really enjoying using it. It’s a bloody fantastic primer, doesn’t crease once applied and holds eyeshadow like glue. I’m really into the hygienic twist out pen packaging also. Once all my slap is in place, I’ve been dousing myself in Clarins Fix Make-Up. I picked this up after my makeover purely because I LOVED the non-sticky, non-dull effect it had on my skin plus it actually did hold my makeup in place for a ridiculously long time.
Lastly, I’ve been feeling rather classic of late and busting out a red lipstick on an (almost) daily basis. My current favourite is from Rimmel Lasting Matte by Kate Moss Collection; 111 Kiss of Life. It’s deliciously classic in colour and the perfect shade for Christmas!
That’s all for now ๐
