Another foundation? Surely I couldn’t possibly need any more foundation, you say? Sadly yes, it is another one and yes, I do. How could I possibly allow my foundation collection to suffer when there are new shiny amazeball products arriving on the market everyday? I just couldn’t, is of course the answer.
Especially when the foundation in question is from Bourjois, who I love and adore! And when I say I love them, I really really love them, they’ve become like the new Chanel to me. Any whiff of a new product and I’m weak at the knees, demanding prices and release dates and planning my timely arrival at the stand to get my hands on everything. Their previous foundation offering totally floated my boat and then some, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out there was another one on the way! And without further ado, here it is!
Introducing Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation, oh be still my shallow makeup loving heart! Seriously though, all melodramatics aside, this is a bloody excellent product and just might be entered in my Foundation Hall of Fame er, category.
It’s been formulated with three colour correcting pigments which promise to reduce redness, eradicate dark circles and lift and brighten the skin. Before we get on to that, I have to mention the texture first, it’s really really impressive. Light and extremely easy to blend, it literally melts into the skin and feel’s extremely luxurious. It’s a semi-matte finish without being too slippy and glowy or too dry and cakey, it fits right in the middle perfectly. I was a little skeptical of the colour correcting pigment action but was pleasantly surprised to find it reduces redness on my skin and definitely balances out the tone, probably more then any other foundation I have. These are huge plus points for me as my main skin issues are redness and pigmentation.
Any downsides? To be honest, no. I think it promises to last 16 hours but as usual I never buy into that, it lasts me all day at work and that’s good enough! I even like the packaging, a solid glass bottle with pretty lettering! Easily pleased I am. Anyways, it’s out now and retails for 8BD/89AED, again and rather annoyingly, a little bit more expensive then the EU but what can you do, whinge whinge whinge etc – I still love it!
