Bobbi Brown Makeup Lessons

Bobbi Brown have relaunched their in-store makeup lessons with a few new additions, and a couple of new products have recently hit the shelves.

Having worked for Bobbi Brown previously, I was mega intrigued to see what else is now being offered, so I ambled down to the Dubai Mall for an appointment.

If you’ve been to the Dubai Mall store before, you’ll know that it’s one of their biggest branches. I love the decor and it kinda makes me want to live there! The makeup lessons take place in the back section of the store so you can either sit in the open area right near the till or in a more private room to the side.

Bobbi's Makeup Lessons Dubai

There are a tonne of lessons on offer – 10 in total, all the 10 minutes ones we’re used to; How to concealer, How to foundation, Cheeks and Lips, Smokey eyes, plus more complex 20 minutes ones; Look of the season, Secret to standout eyes and How to bronze. All of these lessons are free, which is pretty amazing and of course, the artist helps you with correct colour selection, application and so on.

There also a new range of payable services; natural day makeup, special occasion makeup and bridal makeup, and the price for each service is redeemable against products in the store. I went for the natural day makeup look, and got to try a bunch of new stuff in the process which is always nice!

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick

So the first one was Bobbi’s Foundation Stick. This has been around for ages but they have just launched a new reformulated version (available in 24 shades). As with the previous version, it’s lovely and creamy and extremely easy to apply. It blends beautifully on the skin and even though its full coverage, it still leaves your skin looking like skin. Apparently, the stand out feature is that it adapts to match you skin. So if you have oily skin it will produce a more matte finish, and if you have dry skin it will produce a more dewy finish. Pretty good, eh?

Either way, I really like it. It lasted all day – although the makeup artist did set it with a compact powder. The other product I tried is the new Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Base. I was a little bit blown away by this to be honest. It does an amazing job of evening out the eyelid tone and setting the area for shadow. It looked so good that I was almost reluctant to put eyeshadow on top of it! It’s available in four shades; light, light to medium, medium to dark and dark. I went for the medium to dark. Here’s the finished look; (excuse the rubbish picture!)
