You know what I love? Short, concise product reviews. Why? Oh you know, probably because I’m usually reading blogs when I should be doing something else…
So that’s what’s happening here – a quick run down of new beauty bits and pieces that have landed in my grubby mitts of late.
No messing about people, let’s get on with it! 🙂
Smashbox BB Cream for Eyes – A twisty up pen style applicator dispenses a thin but creamy product which you smooth under the eye area. It’s very brightening, with a pleasing formula, lasts a fair amount of time and has SPF15. Too much of it results in creasing, it can look a little dry on the skin and it’s probably best to use an additional concealer as it only provides light (ish) coverage. Promises to reduce dark circles over time which I can’t attest to as of yet. Available here in five shades and on all counters from May.
Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum – Smells exactly like their bronzing products. Think summer nights with the lingering heat of the day, a faint whiff of expensive sun lotion, yummy cocktails and tanned skin and you’ll have this scent down. Closer inspection reveals coconut notes, intertwined with jasmine, orange blossom and vanilla. Literally summer in a (sensational) bottle. I’m all over it. Available in the ME and online from House of Fraser from early May.
Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet – Same thin texture as Aqua Lumiere but dries quite quickly on the skin (if I leave it too long before blending it doesn’t go very far). Light to medium coverage and very buildable with a beautiful velvet finish. Think soft focus skin, and very little shine but without the dry or cakey finish. Lasts an inordinate amount of time and doesn’t clog. Farking sensational. Available here in six shades and on all counters.
Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Primer – Comes out of the tube very thick but applies nice and thinly on the eyelids. Flesh coloured so great under any eyeshadow and really grabs every last bit of dust and shimmer you apply. Very long wear time with no separating or creasing. Totes outstanding. Available here and on all counters from May.
Tom Ford Coral Beach Nail Polish – A warm semi-sheer coral shade. First coat quite watery, second coat almost full coverage. Applies warmer than it looks in the packaging – kind of a pinky/orange coral. Very much like. Outstanding swatches on this blog (warning: you will want all the shades, particularly Sugar Dune). Available here and in the ME from May.
Tom Ford Coral Sheer Lip Colour in Summer Fling – Oh sweet, sweet Tom Ford. This lipstick is a thing of great, great beauty. A sheer, very delicate pink with iridescent gold shimmer running through it. Gives a luminous finish and feels very moistursing on the lips however, it’s very much on the natural/everyday side of things. Available here and in the ME from May.
And there we have it. What did you think of that? Speed reviews might be a new thing?
Let me know if you like them and I’ll do more 🙂
