Unrelated fun fact: I’m watching the Six Nations right now and it’s very stressful (Ireland better win).
So a new foundation from Laura Mercier arrived on my doorstep last week and I made this noise when I clapped eyes on it: ‘OoooOOh’. When I read the full title; Silk Creme Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation… I thought to myself, oh no. No, no, no. I’m currently rocking some seriously oily skin so this baby will undoubtedly make it worse, right? Wrong! It’s bloody amazing.
I don’t know how it does it, but it almost seems to control the oil on my face.
In comparison the original Silk Creme foundation, which I am a huge fan of, I can attest to this being more of the same; full coverage, non-cakey, very long-lasting etc,. with the main differences being that this new version is not as thick in consistency as it’s sister and leaves a beautiful glow on the skin. And when I say glow, I don’t mean shiny yuck, I mean like a fresh looking, good nights sleep, your-skin-looks-amazing-and-not-oily, kind of glow. It lasts as long as the original Silk Creme but honestly, it’s all about the glow guys.
I can imagine that dry skin types will drink this stuff up, combo skin will love it and oilier skinned gals like myself can join the party too as it doesn’t discriminate. There are 12 shades available, ranging from light to dark (I’m Rose Ivory) and it retails for approximately Dhs200 from Areej in Dubai or online from Saks and Nordstrom.
If you like Silk Creme and a bit of a luminous finish, you will love this so I insist you go buy it immediately! That is all ๐
