A little getaway was on the cards after a couple of hectic months.
The bright lights/big city vibe of Dubai certainly has its virtues, but there’s nothing quite like a good old-fashioned road trip. Especially when it involves six hours of smooth cruising through a relatively undisturbed desert landscape.
We bedded down at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, high in the Muscat mountains, and made it our second home for a few days. A place that probably coined the term secluded luxury, there are no sufficient words to describe its wonder – so I will attempt to go some of the way with images, and a little vlog.
