Winter is coming, and for some mad reason, I seem to be swaying towards not wearing all black.

I insisted on wearing mostly all black/grey for the last couple of months when the temperature was at near-death levels, but now that it’s cooling down, my feelings towards my usual funeral director garb have done the same.

If I’m being honest, it’s probably because;

a) I dropped a few pounds lately and no longer feel the need to constantly wear ‘slimming black’ (hurrah!).

b) People in Dubai (mostly holidaymakers in swimwear and shorts) stare at me when I mince around in ‘summer black’.

c) Frame Denim blue jeans are the best things ever invented and I want to wear them all the time.

Please forgive the quality of the above image, as it was taken on my iPhone, but this is basically the gist of my new not wearing all black style 🙂

Shirt. Jeans. Pointy Shoes. No Black. Check!

Now, the jeans. Let’s start with them because oh my, they’re amazing.

I came across Frame Denim on Net-A-Porter about two years ago and swore allegiance to them  as soon as I pulled up the zip and fastened the button. They’re not cheap by any means, but I really feel that the quality makes them worth every penny. I wear them every day and wash them just as much, and they never lose their fit or shape.

My favourite style is the Le Skinny De Jeanne, which I’m wearing in the above picture. Available in stone and black, distressed and non-distressed, they suck and tuck in all the right places and sculpt your legs and bum. Yes, that’s right – they sculpt your bod. I’m not even joking! They are the greatest jeans of all time.

My shirt is from Massimo Dutti (it looks like denim in the picture but it’s actually made from very structured linen), and my shoes are from Rupert Sanderson. I avoided shirts for a period, but now I’m feeling them again. There’s something cool and pulled-together about a shirt and jeans. Or else this is actually a sign that I am getting old and turning into my mother. Which isn’t a bad thing, as she’s pretty stylin’ 🙂

Do you have a favourite denim brand? Have you tried Frame Denim before? Let me know!
