Lets talk about foundation. I have been using Clarins Extra Comfort for literally months and sadly, I can now see the bottom of the jar. So what’s a girl to do? Try a new foundation of course!
The new foundation in question is YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat. As far as I know this has been out quite awhile but I’m only getting around to trying it now. I started using it almost two weeks ago and it’s been on my face most days.
Here are my findings;
It’s an incredibly luxurious formula, with an incredible silky soft feel. It’s one of those ones that makes you go ‘ooh!’ when you first slap it on. Know what I mean? Applying it in the mornings always feels like a bit of treat!
It’s quite a runny foundation, so I find that fingers or a stippling brush work best for application (for reference: the Real Techniques stippling brush in particular is outstanding for this).
In terms of coverage I would say it provides a solid medium that’s buildable and it leaves a very soft focus, dewy finish on the skin. When it comes to lasting power it’s pretty damn impressive too – I’ve never had to touch up during the day, not once. Not even with lots of to-ing and fro-ing between freezing cold offices and the slightly humid outdoors.
But best of all, it doesn’t sink into pores and fine lines and it doesn’t have an overpowering smell! Hallelujah. To demonstrate the non-sinking into pores and beautiful finish, I give you this semi close up shot of my mug once I had applied it. As an aside, there will never be closer shots than this people. Imagine the horror!
Don’t zoom in for the love of god.
Also, in terms of downsides to all this amazingness, there is only one – the pump cap. You have to hold the bottle on its side when pumping it out or else it dribbles around the cap and makes a mess. I think this is down to the runny formula.
So there we have it. Are you using this foundation? I would imagine some of you are as it’s been available for some time now. Let me know what you think!
