I’m always ranting and raving about the latest foundations I’m using and why but recently realised I’ve given little or no love to the foundation brush department. Which is surprisingly as I’ve literally been using the same two or three brushes for months now.
Two brushes are from Real Techniques, the makeup brush line created by Samantha Chapman of Pixiwoo fame. They’re synthetic and designed for buffing and stippling respectively, and have taken the makeup/blogworld by storm. The brushes are incredibly soft and easy to use, no brush hair fallout or streaking here – and at 12GBP for the stippling brush and I would imagine something similar for the buffing brush if it was sold separately (it comes in the Core Collection kit), they’re surprisingly purse friendly. Although both can be used for a multitude of purposes, I particularly love them for foundation and other cream products.
The most recent foundation brush addition is from Dolce & Gabbana and is a miniature flat synthetic brush from their Mini Lace Brush Kit. I’ve come to love using this as it’s short-handled and easy to manoeuver again it doesn’t shed or streak and it feels just lovely against the skin. I reach for this one when I want a slightly heavier base with a flawless finish. So there we have it. What foundation brushes are you using at the moment and why do you love them?
