As a huge fan of Benefit blush boxes, it was only a matter of time before I got my hands on their latest offering; Hervana. This shade is different to their previous launches as it promises to give a ‘flush’ on the cheeks, as opposed to a full on blush. See the difference? Me neither.
Hervana is a mixture of 4 different shades; lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose and berry delight. According to Benefit, you can swirl them all together with a fluffy blush brush for an “orchid-blossom” shade or you can swatch them individually, which is somewhat awkward, for different shades. Now, let me start by saying I love the packaging. I really really love it. Typical Benefit with cute slogans and bright colours. It follows the same aesthetic as Bella Bamba; the first of their powder boxes to have the lid attached to the box with a dinky little mirror inside. The small brush is in there as per usual, but it’s softer and slightly more angled then previous versions, their best one yet I would say.
The actual colour is quite pale. When all swirled together, it’s a baby soft pink, very pretty for sure, but nothing unique. When applied to the skin it’s hardly noticeable, a little bit of layering is required for a more obvious result. To me, this blush is what I would class as a ‘no makeup’ blush. It’s natural, very girly and add’s a hint of glowiness to the skin. It also smells delicious! I tried to photograph some swatches, but it barely show’s up on my already pale skin. Here’s my best attempt below; (The first finger on the left is the main shade, the rest are individual swatches of the other shades)
I bought mine in the US for $28, which is about 22 euro, cheaper then what the retail price will be when it arrives here, the equivalent of about $36. It’s available in the US now and arrives in the UK/Rest of the world at the end of January.
Do I love it? Yeah I suppose I do. It’s a very nice product, good quality and gives a nice subtle colour to the cheeks. It’s a bit expensive for what it is, but then again most of Benefit’s boxes are and that hasn’t stopped me buying them in the past. Will it replace Coralista in my affections? No, but I’m not sure if anything ever will!
Will you be purchasing?
